Report from the ordinary general assembly 22 June 2024 at 14:00.

  1. Election of conductor, reporter and vote counter.

  2. Chairman Per Thostrup and deputy chairman Lars G Skjoldager gave the board’s report.

    Thank you to Ole Vagn Christensen for the more than 10 years of chairmanship and 40 years of work for Nordic Folkecenter.
    We remember Niels I Meyer and thanked him for the many years of cooperation and support. Niels I Meyer passed away in October 2023.

    The Advisory Board established on 22 April 2024 was presented.

    Lars G Skjoldager went through the turmoil that Christian N Grant did during his chairmanship (2 October 2023 to 12 March 2024) had created a attack on democracy and the Nordic Folkecenter’s management.

  3. The Support Group’s accounts presented.

    99 members in the Support Group. If we include 2024, there are 158 members.
  4. Proposals received

    Amendments to the articles of association were presented.

    The extraordinary general meeting will be on 7 September 2024

    The second proposal was a vote of no confidence in the board put forward by three people. 39 eligible voters voted 33 no, 3 for and 3 blanks. The proposal fell.
  5. Election of board members

    Elected: Henning Bo Madsen, Ringkøbing and Anders Maegaard Metz Kristensen, Copenhagen
  6. Election of 4 alternates

    Elected Jane Bonnerup, Judit Szoleczky, Niels Ansø and Anna Krenz.
  7. Determining the quota.

    Same quota as last year.
  8. Election of treasurer and accountant for the Support Group.

    Elected Ian Jordan as treasurer and Jørgen Møller as auditor.
  9. Orientation about new members of the Support Group.

    9 new members.

    Debate on Nordic Folkecenter’s trainee programme, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ new program for developing country support, proposals for the upcoming extraordinary general meeting.
