Need help with ESG?

Nordic Folkecenter’s Sustainability Manager, Gitte Davidsen, has taken a course in ESG at the Technological Institute.

The abbreviation ‘ESG’ stands for Environment, Social & Governance and it is a collection of efforts within strategy work that organizations and companies must do to meet the increasing number of ESG-related regulations, requirements and expectations.

It requires companies and organizations to measure themselves and report on other than the financial figures, including the environment, sustainability, employee satisfaction, sustainability, etc.

This could be, for example, policies regarding the environment and how happy and satisfied their employees are.

In recent years, there are more and more companies that have an increasing focus on the ‘triple bottom line’, where they include social and environmental factors in the economic bottom line. So ESG as a focus area is not entirely new. The new thing is that there are now more defined requirements for working strategically based on ESG and reporting thereof.
