Again this year, Nordic Folkecenter for Renewable Energy participated in the Climate People’s Meeting (org.: Klimafolkemødet), where we talked to interested guests about our trainee program, our work with the development of RE technologies and cooperation with SMEs, energy policy, the climate crisis and the future.
Fortunately, the days offered really nice weather, so a lot of guests stopped by booth no. 49, which this year we shared with the organization VedvarendeEnergi and the association Energifællesskaber Danmark.
THY Møllen had, together with the Nordic Folkecenter’s Support Group, sponsored our participation in the Climate People’s Meeting, and therefore we had the pleasure of having Freddy Larsen, advisor at THY Møllen, with us in our booth on Thursday.
The Climate People’s Meeting is an annual event that puts the climate at the top of the agenda. The purpose is quite simply to inspire action – both for decision-makers, companies, organizations and citizens – and the theme is “Climate action together”.
Nordic Folkecenter’s participation in the Climate People’s Meeting 2024 was a great experience (even though we have tried it twice before). We had the change to tell about our work and our objective; we made new acquaintances within the world of education; our trainees experienced Danish democracy in full bloom and could practice debating and communicating about renewable energy and education; and possible collaborations were explored.
So of course we hope that Nordic Folkecenter for Renewable Energy will also be present at the Climate People’s Meeting in 2025.
