The Sea is the Limit – New Project for Folkecenter!

By Daniele Pagani. På Dansk (oversættelse: Trine Sund Kammersgaard)

As you probably have read in our previous newsletter, Folkecenter is now part of a new European project called Permagov.

After a first online kick-off meeting which took place in January, last week (21-23 March) we had the chance to join the official kick-off meeting, which took place in Wageningen (the Netherlands). It was very nice to be in presence again, after so long time collaborating online.

During the meeting we had the chance to meet the partners in the project and to discuss together the plan of action for the next four years; of course, this was just a preliminary discussion, but it set the basis for tall the future cooperation. The project, which will focus on marine governance, is divided into four thematic areas: marine transport, marine life, marine energy and marine plastics; for each of them, there are a number of case studies which the partnership will analyze, so that a practical understanding of the issues involved can be acquired. An overview of the cases can be found below:

Folkecenter will focus on the energy islands which are now being planned around the country. We will keep you updated about the progress of the project, but you are always also welcome to visit the project website: https://www.permagov.eu/
